AI Item Import Wizard

The AI Item Import Wizard allows Org Admins to import items into Certiverse using AI-assisted analysis and mapping. Instead of manually reformatting files, the wizard analyzes uploaded content, detects items, maps data to standard item components, highlights potential issues, and enables a direct import into the platform.

This feature is designed to simplify and accelerate the item import process while maintaining data quality.

Portal Area: Authoring

Who Can Use This Feature

  • Org Admins

Supported File Types

The AI Item Import Wizard currently supports the following file formats:

  • CSV

  • JSON

  • XML

  • TXT

At this time, the wizard supports one file per import session. Support for multiple files may be added in future iterations.

How the AI Item Import Works

The AI Item Import Wizard guides you through uploading a file, reviewing AI analysis results, and importing items into Certiverse. You can fix issues and re-upload files as needed before completing the import.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start an AI Item Import
  1. Go to Authoring → Import.

  2. Select AI Item Import.

2. Upload Your File
  1. Upload a supported file (CSV, JSON, XML, or TXT).

  2. The system checks that the file can be read.

If the file is unsupported or unreadable, an error message is shown and the process stops.

3. AI Analysis and Mapping

After upload, the AI analyzes the file to detect items, map fields to item components, and identify any issues.

Once the file is successfully uploaded:

  • The AI scans and analyzes the file content

  • Item boundaries and total item count are detected

  • Fields are mapped to standard item components

  • Missing or invalid components are identified

During analysis, you’ll see a loading indicator and status messages showing progress. If analysis fails or times out, you’ll be informed and guided to retry.

4. Review the Analysis Summary

Once analysis is complete, you’ll see a summary showing:

  • Total items detected

  • Items ready for import

  • Items with errors

Items without topics can still be imported and assigned a topic later.

5. Download CSV Files (Optional)

Depending on the results, you may download:

  • Error & Status CSV (only when errors exist): shows item IDs, status, and error details.

  • AI-Parsed CSV (always available): reflects the AI’s interpreted structure and can be edited and re-uploaded.

6. Choose How to Proceed

After reviewing the summary and optional downloads, you can:

Start Import

  • Available when no blocking errors exist

  • Items are imported immediately

Fix Issues First

  • Download the CSV

  • Correct the errors

  • Re-upload the corrected CSV or the original source file

7. Re-Upload (Optional)

If you fix issues, upload the corrected file to re-run analysis. You can repeat this step until you’re ready to import.

8. Import Execution

When you confirm the import:

  • The system uses the AI-generated mappings

  • Items are imported directly into Certiverse

  • No secondary or manual import step is required
