Test rules provide guidance for what is acceptable during your test. Your test may be paused by the proctor or automatically by the testing platform to investigate suspicious actions or events during the test.
Examples of prohibited behavior may include, but are not limited to:
- Looking off the screen
- Mumbling or speaking aloud
- Using unauthorized materials as listed in prohibited items
- Interacting with third parties
- Leaving the view of the webcam
- Using profanity/abusive language toward your proctor
Exam Best Practices:
- Use a private test area.
- Make sure that you are alone for the duration of the exam
- Ideally, you will be in a quiet, well-lit room.
- Note: The AI and proctors will flag “other person” events in which another person comes into the video frame. If you must take your exam in a room with others, try to find a quiet area where no one will inadvertently walk behind you during the exam.
- Do not interact with others.
- Do not speak with anyone during the exam.
- Other materials are not allowed.
- For your exam, supplemental materials such as books, textbooks, notes, or other non-digital materials are not allowed to be referenced.
- Only one mouse, keyboard, and monitor/display are allowed during the exam.
- Use of a second monitor, or any software that allows you to share your computer, or grant remote access to your computer, is not allowed during the exam.
- If you choose to use an external monitor to extend your laptop's display, please close your laptop screen. Remember, an external monitor must have its own webcam that stays on throughout the entire appointment. In this case, your laptop webcam won't be usable.
- No additional devices are allowed.
- Please turn off your devices (except your testing computer). This includes iPads, iPods, tablets, smartwatches, or electronic dictionaries.
- Headphones may not be used while testing (including earbuds, AirPods, headsets, etc.)
