💡 Items returned as For Revision or For Rewrite come back to their author with reviewer feedback attached. Find them in My Items (Authoring sidebar): filter by status using the chips at the top (All, Draft, Under Review, Accepted, For Revision, Rejected, Author Cancelled), then click Revise on the item you want to work.
8.2.1 Click Revise. The revision editor opens in split-screen:
- Left pane: the reviewer's findings. An Issues counter (e.g., Issues: 1 of 1) tracks the flagged problems, each shown as the review question it failed (e.g., "Are the incorrect answers plausible? — No") with the Reviewer Feedback explaining exactly why. Below the feedback, your item is displayed with the flagged parts outlined and labeled.
- Right pane: the Item Authoring Form — the same wizard-style editor you wrote the item in, where you make your changes. The History tab beside it logs every review and edit the item has been through, with reviewer attribution (including Certiverse AI for AI-performed reviews).
8.2.2 Read the full feedback before editing anything. The reviewer names the failing quality check and the specific reasoning: address that, not just anything that looks improvable.
❓ What kinds of checks do reviewers apply?
The review evaluates item quality questions like: Is the stem clear and self-contained? Does the correct answer stick out (by length, detail, or phrasing)? Are the incorrect answers plausible? Is each rationale sound? AI reviews apply these same standards. The Issues panel tells you which check failed, so your revision has a definite target rather than a vague sense that something's wrong.
8.2.3 Make your edits in the Item Authoring Form on the right, navigating the wizard steps (Question, Correct Answer, Incorrect Answers, Rationales, Overall) to reach the flagged content.
⚠️ Keep the whole item in view while fixing one part. Replacing a distractor can change how the set reads together; shortening a correct answer can affect its rationale. Fix the flagged issue, then reread the complete item before resubmitting.
8.2.4 Update any rationales affected by your changes: a replaced distractor needs a replacement rationale explaining the new misconception it represents.
8.2.5 Choose your exit: Submit for review (the item re-enters the review workflow), Save Draft (keep progress, finish later), Abandon Item (moves it to Author Cancelled), or Cancel without saving.
❓ Will the same reviewer see my revision?
The item re-enters the review queue and is evaluated against the same quality standards, whether by a human reviewer or Certiverse AI per your blueprint's settings. The History tab preserves the full chain: original review, your revision, and each subsequent review, so any reviewer can see what was flagged and how you addressed it.
