The Bulk Item Update process in the Item Management Portal is now asynchronous, allowing updates to continue running in the background even if the user navigates away. Users can also close the progress dialog without interrupting the process, and real-time progress updates are displayed. Upon completion, an in-app notification confirms the update, specifying the number of successfully updated items.

Steps to Perform a Bulk Item Update:

Access the Item Management Portal
- Navigate to the Item Management Portal.

Go to Accepted Items
- Click on Accepted Items in the left menu.

Select Items to Update
- Choose the items that require an update.

Initiate Bulk Update
- Click on the Bulk Actions button.
- From the dropdown menu, select Bulk Update.
- A new screen will appear, displaying update options.
- A checkbox selection allows multiple items to be chosen at once.

Confirmation Process
- Click Confirm & Update to proceed.
- A message will appear stating: 'This may take a moment. You can navigate away, and updates will continue in the background. Please refresh later to view the latest changes.'
- A progress bar will be displayed, showing the real-time update status.
- Users can close this progress window without stopping the update.

Receiving Confirmation
- Once the update is complete, an in-app notification will appear: 'Your bulk item update has been completed, and [X] items have been updated.'
- Clicking on the notification will redirect users to the Item Management Dashboard to review changes.
This new asynchronous feature enhances usability by allowing users to continue working without interruption while updates process in the background. The ability to track progress in real-time ensures users stay informed about update completion.
