Encourage and reward contributors to strengthen and grow your professional community
There are a number of ways you can entice potential subject matter experts (SMEs) to participate in your Certiverse exam development process and motivate them to produce high-quality content:
- Stipend – Pay a flat-fee or hourly rate for participation
- Revenue-share – Pay per item that is approved/used in the final exam (this may also encourage your SMEs to help promote the exam)
- Continuing Ed credits – Consider offering CEUs for participation.
- Professional Recognition – Look for opportunities to showcase your SMEs’ contribution to the exam via your community/industry. Some ideas: If you use a digital badging solution for your credential, explore whether you can issue badges to SMEs that they can post on their LinkedIn profiles. You can also choose to feature them in a newsletter article, blog, or podcast. Consider asking them to participate in a panel discussion at a conference.
- Competition – Gamification built into the platform lets you track participation and award points for certain tasks and display them on a leaderboard. Contributors can compete for bragging rights or prizes (see below).
- First to apply! – Enter the first XXX SMEs to apply into a drawing for prizes (see below).
- Prizes/Discounts – In conjunction with other tactics you can provide SMEs with discounts on courseware, study materials, exam vouchers, branded swag, admission to conferences, etc.
- Evangelism Program – Tap into existing SMEs to identify friends and/or colleagues that they think would also make good SMEs. If using gamification, you can award points for each referral that is vetted/accepted.
