Notes: January 21st Release

This release streamlines Admin workflows across Authoring, Admin, and Exam Management. JTAs can now be created and configured directly in Authoring, integrations are easier to access, SME review rules are clearer, and scoring guidance helps prevent exam setup errors.

Authoring Portal

Create JTAs from the Authoring workspace with an in-context Add JTA button

The Add JTA action has been moved from the Admin portal into the JTA section of the Authoring screen, so Admins can create JTAs directly where they work. Super, CV, and Org Admins will now always see an Add JTA button in Authoring (even when no JTAs exist yet), while SMEs and Project Admins cannot create JTAs and will not see the button. The existing Create JTA screen and behavior are preserved, with a new Go to Authoring button that appears only after a JTA is created, and updated Organization selection rules that ensure users can create JTAs only for organizations where they are Org Admins. Cancel and back navigation return the user to the JTA list in Authoring.

Manage individual JTA settings directly within Authoring

JTA settings have been moved out of the Admin Portal and into each individual JTA in Authoring, reducing context switching and streamlining configuration. Admins can now open a JTA’s settings from any JTA tab (Tasks, Survey, Analysis, Blueprint Preview) and in any status (Authoring, Surveying, Published) using a new gear icon that opens a side-panel within the same screen, with the option to expand to full view. Existing behaviors are preserved: importing tasks remains available while the JTA is in Authoring status only, and Project Admins can still only view and update the Survey tab (with no permission to import tasks), while Super, CV, and Org Admins can access and update all configuration tabs.

Centralize JTA survey settings in the JTA configuration panel

In the Authoring JTA experience, Global Survey Settings have been moved from the JTA “Survey” tab into the centralized JTA configuration modal, accessible via the gear icon. A new Survey tab has been added to this configuration screen (after the Minimally Qualified Candidate tab), where all former Global Survey Settings now live, including controls such as “End Surveys in Progress.” The Survey tab and its actions remain available only after a JTA has been created, and users still cannot take or complete a JTA survey until the Survey toggle is enabled. Permissions are preserved: Project Admins can view and update only the Survey tab from the gear icon, while Super, CV, and Org Admins can view and update all configuration tabs.

Admin Portal

Access exam Connectors from a dedicated Admin navigation entry

The Integrations & Connectors tab has been moved out of the Organizations section into the Admin left navigation and renamed Connectors, making integration management easier to find and access. The tab’s functionality and permissions remain unchanged, but now include an organization selector at the top of the page: Org Admins (internal or external) can choose from the organizations they manage, with the UI loading automatically when only one org is available. If multiple organizations exist and none has been chosen yet, users are prompted to select an organization before the Connectors UI is displayed. The selected organization continues to stay “sticky” across Certiverse portals.

Clarify SME review rules by disabling conflicting blueprint settings

In the Admin blueprint settings, the relationship between SME review options has been clarified to avoid conflicting configurations. When Allow SMEs to Review Items Without Writing Items is selected, the SME reviews per item written field is now automatically disabled (grayed out), with helper text explaining that it is turned off because SMEs can review items without needing to author items first. If the checkbox is cleared, the SME reviews per item written field becomes active again. This behavior also applies to existing blueprints, ensuring consistent, unambiguous control over SME review rules.

Exam Management

Prevent scoring mistakes with guidance on Live vs Beta form pass/fail setup

To reduce scoring errors, the Scoring tab in Form setup now displays clear helper text above the Pass/Fail section. This guidance reminds admins that Live forms must include both a Pass/Fail Type and a Passing Score, while Beta forms typically should not be scored until a cut score is set, so these fields should remain blank for Betas. This small but prominent message is intended to prevent misconfiguration of exam scoring for both Live and Beta forms.
