Notes: March 14th Release
Certiverse enhancements include AI-generated topic descriptions for JTA blueprints, estimated blueprint previews, auto-generated item prefixes, optional rationales, store exam duration auto-fill, expanded localization, AI proctoring alerts, UI standardization, and improved reporting & exam management.
Please note: In the interest of informing our customers as early as possible of any platform changes, we are sharing these release notes in advance of the software release. The final updates may vary and will be documented accordingly.
Authoring Portal
AI‑Generated Topic Descriptions for Blueprints Created from Certiverse JTA
When creating a blueprint from a Certiverse JTA, Certiverse now uses AI to automatically generate clear, concise topic descriptions based on the underlying task statements. These AI‑generated descriptions are created as part of the blueprint creation process (only when using “From Certiverse JTA”), appear as soon as the user opens the blueprint, and remain fully editable so admins can refine them as needed. The existing manual blueprint creation flow is unchanged. This enhancement streamlines blueprint setup, reduces manual writing effort, and supports more consistent, high‑quality topic descriptions across programs.
Estimated Blueprint Preview Available Before JTA Survey Data
In the Authoring portal, the Blueprint Preview tab now shows an estimated blueprint even before survey responses are collected. This lets admins review domain distributions, validate tasks and domains, and, if needed, publish a JTA without running the survey, using the estimated blueprint as the final version. When survey data becomes available, the estimated blueprint is automatically replaced by the blueprint calculated from actual responses. Existing JTAs that already have survey data continue to show only the final blueprint.
Blueprint Item Naming: Auto‑Generated 3‑Character Prefix from Blueprint Name
Automatically generates a default Item Name Prefix when creating a new blueprint in Authoring → Create Manual Blueprint / Create from JTA → Items tab, using the first three letters from the blueprint name (ignoring spaces, numbers, and special characters, and capitalizing all letters). If the first word has fewer than three letters, characters are taken from subsequent words until three letters are collected. Admins can still customize the prefix, including using fewer than three characters or adding symbols/numbers (as long as at least one letter is included). Existing blueprints are not changed, and their current item name prefixes remain as configured.
Blueprint Configuration: Optional Rationales per Blueprint
Adds a “Require rationales” configuration option at the Blueprint level, giving org admins control over whether item rationales are mandatory in SME workflows. For new blueprints, the checkbox is unchecked by default, making rationales optional; for existing blueprints, it is checked to preserve current behavior. When the setting is off, SMEs can create and update items without providing correct‑option or distractor rationales, and the “required” validation is removed in Item Writing and Review (missing rationales simply appear as empty in review). This change lets clients streamline authoring where rationales are not needed, while still allowing programs that depend on them to enforce the requirement blueprint‑by‑blueprint.
References Field Removed from AI-Assisted Item Generator
We’ve removed the Reference Source(s) field and its info callout from the AI‑assisted item generator, as this input was not used in item generation or shown as meaningful “References” on AI‑created items. The UI now presents only functional fields, reducing confusion and cognitive load for authors. Backend logic and prompts have been updated accordingly, and AI‑generated items will no longer include a “References” section.
Remote Proctoring
AI Webcam: Facial Detection Alerts for Remote Proctoring
Introduces AI‑based facial detection to live remote proctoring to automatically flag when a candidate is out of view or when multiple faces appear in the webcam feed. When enabled via new AI settings, the system runs detection in the background and raises incidents such as “Face out of view” and “Another person in the room,” including a timestamp and a cached video clip from just before the event. Proctors can review each incident in a dedicated modal and choose to Ignore or Log it, with all alerts, missed alerts, escalations, and proctor actions recorded for auditing. A toolbar control also allows proctors to toggle AI proctoring features on or off per session, including temporarily disabling AI if it generates too many false positives, without impacting overall exam performance.
Admin Portal
Connectors Screen: Centralized Documentation Link & Simplified Navigation
Streamlines the Connectors experience in the Admin portal by replacing per‑connector documentation links with a single, centralized Documentation link at the top of the Connectors screen and simplifying the left navigation. The new global link persists across all connector tabs and opens the Integrations & APIs section of the Administrator Knowledge Base, ensuring admins always reach the most up‑to‑date documentation from one place. The left menu has been cleaned up by removing the redundant Connectors list and shortening the header label from “Partner Type” to “Type,” reducing visual clutter while preserving existing routing, filtering, and connector‑type selection behavior.
BI & Reporting
Candidate Results Report: Optional “Exam Title” Column for Credly Alignment
Adds an optional Exam Title column to the Candidate Results Report so clients can align exam results with badges issued via Credly and similar systems. The new column pulls the Exam Title from Exam Management, is hidden by default, and can be enabled through the column selector, where it appears immediately to the right of Exam Name. This change does not affect report performance or layout when the column is hidden and ensures that the values displayed in the report match the Exam Title configured on the Exam Management page.
Exam Management
Default Exam Duration Sync Between Blueprint and Exam Configuration
Auto-populates the Default Exam Form Maximum Time field in Exam Management using the Exam Duration value configured on the associated blueprint, reducing duplicate data entry for admins. For new exams, the default maximum time is prefilled from the blueprint duration but remains editable; for existing exams, current maximum time values are preserved with no automatic changes, ensuring backward compatibility while streamlining setup for new exam configurations.
Random Item Rescore: From Random Selection to Fixed Forms
Enables rescoring exam deliveries that originally used random item selection to a target exam form that does not use random selection. When a delivery is rescored to a fixed (non‑random) form, any items that exist on both the original (random) delivery and the target form reuse the original candidate responses and scoring outcomes. Items that are only present on the target form and were never delivered are treated as “not reached” and scored as incorrect, following the existing rescore behavior. This supports scenarios where an exam initially delivered with random item selection needs to be rescored to a corrected or updated fixed form while preserving valid response data and maintaining consistent, audit‑ready scoring rules.
Random Item Rescore: Random Selection to Random Selection
Enables rescoring exam deliveries that use random item selection, including rescoring from one random‑selection form to another. When a delivery is rescored to a target form with random item selection, the system prioritizes reusing items that appeared in the original delivery (even if they were in different sections), follows the original delivery order to keep selections consistent across multiple rescores, and then fills any remaining required items from the target section using the exam form configuration order. This approach supports scenarios like correcting cut scores, fixing mis‑keyed items, or removing invalid items while maintaining predictable, audit‑ready scoring behavior for clients using random‑form exams.
Store Portal
Store Exam Duration Auto-Population
Admins configuring a store exam will now see the Store Exam Duration field automatically populated with the selected exam’s default form maximum time. Untimed exams will display a duration of 0. Existing store exams remain unchanged. A tooltip has been added with the text: “Automatically uses the exam’s Default Form Maximum Time unless overridden.” This improvement eliminates the need for Admins to manually set the duration in multiple areas of the platform.
Marketplace
Expanded Language Support for Candidate Web Experience
Adds nine new languages to the candidate-facing web experience so candidates can use the homepage, web booking flow, and exam dashboard in their preferred language. The new options are Canadian French, Portuguese, Indonesian, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Traditional Chinese, Russian, and Ukrainian, alongside existing locales. All booking UI pages, the marketplace homepage, dashboard content, and related error messages are now localized using production-ready AI-generated translations, with English fallback where needed. This delivers a fully localized end-to-end journey for global programs, improving accessibility and usability for non‑English speakers.
Cleaner Exam History Table: Hide Empty Payment & Invoice Columns
Updates the My Exams → History table so that the “Payment Method” and “Invoice / Receipt” columns are only shown when there is data to display, reducing horizontal scrolling and visual noise. When a candidate’s history has no payment or invoice information, these two columns are automatically hidden; if any record includes this data, the columns appear and are populated for those rows. Candidates can still manually add or remove these columns at any time using the “Choose Columns” control in the table header, preserving flexibility while keeping the default view focused on relevant information.
AI‑Powered Localization: Account Settings Page Now Available in All Supported Languages
The Account Settings page is now fully localized across all 15 supported languages, allowing candidates to manage their account details in their preferred language. All static text in Account Summary, Privacy Settings, Notification Settings, and Email Preferences is translated and updates instantly when the user switches language from the top toolbar, without requiring a page reload. User‑specific data such as name, email, and roles remain in English as intended, and the behavior is aligned with the existing translation pattern used on the Exam Dashboard, providing a consistent multi‑language experience across the candidate portal.
Secure Browser Install Page Now Supports Multiple Languages
The secure browser installation page can now be viewed in the candidate’s selected language, improving accessibility for non‑English speakers. Static content on this page is fully translated for all supported languages and updates immediately when the user changes the language from the top toolbar, with English used as a fallback when a translation is not available. This ensures clearer instructions and a smoother setup experience for candidates taking exams that require a secure browser.
UI Updates
Unified UI: Standardized Buttons and Labels Across Authoring, Exam Management, and Support
Standardizes action button placement and labels across key admin workflows in Authoring, Exam Management, and Support to create a more consistent, predictable UI. Primary actions (including View/Edit and radio-button selections) are now left-aligned in tables and lists, and dialog actions are renamed to follow platform language (for example, “Cancel Changes” → “Cancel”, “Update Item” → “Update”, and “Manage” / “View” → “View/Edit” where appropriate). These changes reduce visual inconsistency between modules, make common actions easier to scan and recognize, and provide a cleaner, more uniform interaction model for admins working across multiple areas of the platform.
Standardized Action Buttons and Labels Across Key Workflows
We’ve updated primary action buttons and labels across Store, Test Center & Events, and Proctor Management for a more consistent experience. Buttons and icons now appear in the same left‑side position across lists and configuration screens, and previous “View” labels or pencil icons have been replaced with a unified “View/Edit” label. We also aligned confirmation button text with platform standards; for example, using “Cancel” instead of “Close." These changes make common actions easier to find and understand, reducing confusion and improving overall usability.
