System Requirements: Live and Unproctored Exams

This article outlines the minimum system requirements for taking a live, proctored, or unproctored exam on the Certiverse platform.

It is the tester's responsibility to ensure that all system and hardware requirements are met prior to online testing. Certiverse proctoring may require changes to your permissions or computer settings.
⚠ ChromeOS (Chromebook), iOS (iPhone, iPad), and Android (phones, tablets) are not supported for Live and AI Proctoring at this time.

1. Download Required Software

Please download the necessary software before your exam day.

Safe Exam Browser (SEB)
If your exam invitation or instructions explicitly state that Safe Exam Browser (SEB) is required, you must download and install it on your computer using the official links below:

ℹ Ensure the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) is installed before attempting to run the SEB-specific system compatibility check detailed in Section 3.

2. System & Environment Requirements

To ensure a smooth proctoring experience, your system and environment must meet the following:

  1. Minimum Hardware Requirements:
    • A working internal or external webcam (camera).
    • A working internal microphone (microphones from headsets are not allowed).
    • Dual-core CPU.
    • At least 2 GB of RAM available
    • At least 1 GB of available disk space.
  2. Minimum internet speed:
    • Download – 5 Mbps
    • Upload – 5 Mbps
      • Test your internet speed, camera, and microphone here: Network Test
  3. Supported Operating Systems:
    • Windows OS: Windows 11 or newer
    • Mac OS: Sonoma (14) or newer
  4. Supported Browsers (for accessing the Certiverse platform and non-SEB exam elements):
    • Microsoft Edge (latest version)
    • Google Chrome (latest version)
⚠ Important Note for Work Computers:
You must have administrator access on the computer you intend to use, especially if it's a company-issued device. This is often necessary to install software (such as SEB) and to ensure the proctoring application functions correctly. Please check with your IT department if you are unsure.

3. CRUCIAL: Test Your System Compatibility

To prevent technical issues on exam day, we strongly encourage all candidates to test their devices using our system compatibility tool. Running this check well in advance allows time to resolve any identified problems.

Use the Certiverse System Compatibility Tool:

ℹ You must have SEB installed on your computer before running this SEB-specific compatibility check.

Taking a few minutes for this check can save significant stress and ensure you're ready for a successful exam experience. If the tool flags any issues, please take steps to address them or contact support.
